Born and raised in Tbilisi, Nino Gvetadze studied with Veronika Tumanishvili, Nodar Gabunia and Nana Khubutia. After her graduation Nino moved to the Netherlands to study with Paul Komen and Jan Wijn. During her studies Nino received various awards. The most important were the Second Prize, Press Prize and Audience Award at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition 2008. Nino received the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award 2010.
Nino has performed with Michel Plasson, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Michel Tabachnik, and John Axelrod, and with the Rotterdam, The Hague, Brussels and Seoul Philharmonic and the Rheinische Philharmonie amongst others. Nino has given recitals in Hannover (PRO MUSICA Preisträger am Klavier-Zyklus), Bayreuth, the Concertgebouw, Korea and China and with Jean-Yves Thibaudet at the Spoleto Festival.
Highlights of the 2011-12 season show the second concerto's by Brahms (Mahler Chamber Orchestra, David Afkham, Italy), Liszt (Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Jakub Hrusa, Concertgebouw) and Rachmaninoff (Dutch Youth Orchestra, Jurjen Hempel, Concertgebouw) and Chopin's first concerto (Corinthian Chamber Orchestra, Paul Hoskins, Cadogan Hall) and recitals at the Festival Piano aux Jacobins (Toulouse) and in Pullach, Germany.
For Orchid Classics Nino recorded a CD titled "Widmung" with Liszt piano works. An animation film has been made in which Nino Gvetadze performs Liszt's "Gretchen am Spinnrade". The film is presented at www.gretchenamspinnrade.com.
Nino further recorded the complete solo piano works by Mussorgsky (Brilliant Classics).
